Alzheimer’s Support Group Third Monday of every month at 7 p.m. Classroom A Participants in need of a caregiver during the meeting should make arrangements by contacting the Educational Services Department, 479-5800, by 12 noon the day of the Alzheimer’s Support Group meeting.
Bereaved Parents Support Group Third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. Meeting Room 1
Breastfeeding Support Group Second Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. Meeting Room 2
Diabetes Support Group Third Wednesday of every month at 12 noon Meeting Room 1
Grandparents and Relatives Raising Children Support Group First Tuesday of every month, except July and August, at 6 p.m. December meets at Morgan County Extension Office. Meeting Room 4 The December meeting is held at the Morgan County Extension Office.
Grief Support Group First Monday of every month at 5 p.m. Meeting Room 1
Ostomy Support Group Third Tuesday of every month at 12 noon Meeting Room 1
Parkinson’s Disease and Neuromuscular Disorders Support Group First Wednesday of every month, except January, February, and March, at 6 p.m. Meeting Room 2

Tamera Norton Honored with Daisy Award

Tamera Norton, a registered nurse in the Transitional Care Unit, is the newest recipient of the Daisy Award at Passavant Area Hospital. Passavant partners with the Daisy Foundation to give the award each quarter to a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse who consistently demonstrates excellence through clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care. A grateful patient nominated Tamera for the honor: “Over the course of my 28 days at Passavant, I became concerned about my progress. I expressed my concern to Tamera. She took note and promised to try and resolve. She made many phone calls until she was able to make an appointment for me. She kept me informed every step of the way and helped arrange for me to leave the unit for the doctor’s appointment. The result of the appointment not only eased my mind, but caused a complete change in my therapy. Tamera cared for my needs unfailingly and always with professional and pleasant attitudes. The rest was way beyond the call of duty.” After receiving the award, Tamera is considering becoming a Daisy ambassador to help spread the word about her experiences. “As a nurse, our common core is to care that much about our patients. I was just trying to provide the good, quality care that our patients want,” Tamera said.
