Passavant Area Hospital’s Employee of the Month is Ralph Mudd, Plant Engineering. He is the groundskeeper and has been employed at Passavant two years.
His nomination from a grateful co-worker read, “Ralph is always working hard to keep the hospital campus looking great. He does all the little things, like picking up cigarette butts, to make sure this happens. I once saw him scraping the dead grass from the curb by the nursing home to the east. This was late on a Friday when most people would have already left for the day. His work ethic and dedication is observable when you see the landscaping.”
As groundskeeper, Ralph is responsible for mowing, trimming shrubs, keeping the grounds free of trash, maintaining the mowers and other equipment and inspecting hospital vehicles.
Ralph and his wife, Connie, reside in Jacksonville.
The Employee of the Month at Passavant receives eight hours off with pay, an Employee of the Month plaque, a close parking space for one month, gift cards for the Cafeteria and Gift Shop, a movie gift card, pen and pencil set, picnic blanket, flashlight/tool kit, Mason jar cup, umbrella, small cooler, lunch sack, drawstring tote, water bottle, notepad, flashlight key ring, coffee mug, and cup.
