Describe a time you went “above and beyond” in your job: It is my belief that when a patient is dependent on you for health care or a colleague is in need of support, you should give nothing less than 100 percent.

And the nomination said: Mrs. Bangert was the nurse who saw my son first and knew that he did not act or look right.  She immediately took him to the Emergency Department and started to work him up. Through the time at the hospital, Mrs. Bangert would come back in the room to check on him and would ask if we needed anything.  She would also explain what was going on with the tests and what they were for.  Also, when we got the news that something was very wrong, she was there to help us through it. When we were leaving the hospital (my son was transferred to St. Louis), she gave me her name and the number to the E. D. in case I needed help with anything that was going on.  I and my son owe her a lot because time was very important
