The Passavant Area Hospital Board of Directors recently elected four community leaders to serve on the Passavant Foundation Board of Trustees. They are, left to right, Steve Turner, Owner/Agent, Turner Insurance; Lisa Musch, Newspaper in Education Coordinator, Jacksonville Journal-Courier; Alban Haxhinasto, Operation Services Manager, The Farmers State Bank and Trust Company; and Frank Cummings, retired Delta Dental executive.
Officers for 2014 include Dr. Keith Lape, president; Linda Donovan, vice president of stewardship and gifts; Ron Tendick, vice president of nominations; Mary Fergurson, secretary; and Steve Turner, treasurer. Other trustees include: Ginny Fanning, Hobart Hinderliter, Gilbert Joehl, Gary Scott and Jan Terry.
Established one year ago, the Passavant Foundation works to expand donor engagement and demonstrate how philanthropy plays a key role in providing quality healthcare at Passavant Hospital. “Gifts are used at Passavant for the benefit of everyone in our local community. We are pleased to honor the wishes of every donor,” Dr. Lape said.
Unrestricted gifts for “Greatest Need” in 2013 totaled $145,000 and were applied toward the purchase of a new CT scanner in the Emergency Department. Other designated gifts funded important programs and departments such as Cardiac Rehab, ICCU, Wound Center, Lifeline, Chaplain’s Fund, and nursing scholarships
