Parkinson's Therapy

Passavant Area Hospital offers physical, occupational and speech therapy for those suffering with Parkinson’s or other neurological conditions. The therapies can help restore and improve patient’s speech and movements impacted by the progression of the disease. Programs consist of 16 Sessions, 4 consecutive days a week for 4 weeks, with daily homework practice and carryover exercises.

Research suggests the sooner therapy is begun the more improvement patients see in existing capabilities and continued therapy mitigates further loss of capabilities.

Our movement therapy helps patients achieve:

  • Faster walking with bigger steps
  • Improved balance
  • Increased trunk rotation

Our voice therapy program helps patients achieve:

  • Improved vocal loudness
  • Improved speech intelligibility
