Memorial's anesthesia department provides safe anesthesia care for inpatients and outpatients at Passavant Area Hospital. Anesthesia care is provided by a team of anesthesiologists (physicians) and certified registered nurse anesthetists (registered nurses) who are specially trained in the field of anesthesia. The anesthesia team administers general anesthesia, epidurals, intravenous sedation, and regional blocks.
Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) Surgery
A variety of surgeries are routinely performed to assist
patients with ear, nose and throat conditions. Procedures such as
tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, myringotomy tube insertion, septoplasty,
functional endoscopic sinus surgery, and partial uvulectomies (for treatment of
sleep apnea) are frequently performed at Passavant. Rigid and/or flexible endoscopic techniques
are used for esophagoscopy, bronchoscopy, and direct laryngoscopy procedures.
Facial fractures are treated using various plating systems. Major surgeries of
the ear are performed using techniques to improve or restore hearing loss.
Surgeries for the diagnosis and treatment of head-and-neck cancer are also
performed. An operative microscope is frequently used to provide the

General and Vascular Surgery
Laparoscopic technology provides the visualization of
internal organs with a telescope inserted through a small abdominal incision. This

purposes and operative treatment. Dilation and curettage, thermal balloon,

gynecologic surgeries performed at Passavant. A variety of operations are

Passavant Area Hospital provides a full range of urological services for patients seeking diagnostic, treatment, or surgical intervention for conditions of the genitourinary system. Some urological procedures can be performed using an endoscope to visualize the bladder, ureter, and kidney pelvis, but others require more invasive techniques. Artificial sphincters or transvaginal taping techniques are performed to improve or restore urinary continence. Holmium laser techniques are utilized in various urological procedures.
