Harry Schmidt, MBA
Chief Executive Officer, Passavant Area Hospital
Schmidt joined Memorial Health System in 2007 with Information Services. In 2009, he was named vice president of the health system’s facilities management division.
Prior to joining Memorial, Schmidt served for 20 years as a professional military officer, rising to the ranks of lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy and major in the U.S. Air Force.
Schmidt holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the United States Naval Academy and a master’s in business administration from Washington University.
Harry and his wife, Lisa, have two teenage sons and reside in rural Menard County.
Scott Boston, MD
Chief Medical Officer, Passavant Area Hospital
Scott Boston, MD, was appointed Chief Medical Officer of Passavant Area Hospital on April 1, 2019.
A Morgan County resident , Dr. Boston earned his medical degree from SIU School of Medicine in 2000 and completed his residency at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He has served as an emergency department physician at Passavant Area Hospital and Memorial Medical Center and been a member of the Passavant medical staff since 2004. He also served as the Passavant Emergency Department medical director from 2012 to 2015. Dr. Boston continues to work in the Passavant Emergency Department allowing him to keep in close touch with his fellow physicians.
The CMO is responsible for the administrative and clinical leadership of the medical staff. In addition, Dr. Boston works with the physicians and the administrative/clerical staff at Passavant and affiliate organizations to streamline operating systems, create efficiencies, reduce costs and eliminate barriers in order to maximize positive patient outcomes.
The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the ultimate policy-making authority for the governance of Passavant Area Hospital. The Board of Directors is comprised of 16 members, each serving a four-year term. Directors are elected by the Board of Governors. The Board of Governors is comprised of representatives from 139 churches in the Passavant service area.
