Intensive Coronary Care Unit
Intensive Coronary Care UnitThe Passavant Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICU/CCU) is a nine-bed unit designated to provide care to critically-ill patients who require constant observation and multiple monitoring. The ICCU is staffed by registered nurses (RN's) and secretarial staff. The staff has advanced training in critical care concepts and management of patients whose condition is critical and may be life threatening. Some typical patient diagnoses are pneumonia, congestive heart failure, sepsis, and respiratory failure. Surgical patients with complicated post operative care may also be admitted to ICCU. Patients are transferred from the unit when their condition improves.
