Visiting Hours
Visiting HoursWe, at Passavant, recognize the important role visitors play in the patient's convalescence. However, we ask visitors to consider all patients' needs for adequate periods of rest and quiet. Care for the patient is our first priority and this may, at times, require suspension of visiting privileges.
General Hospital/Pediatrics Visiting hours end at 8:30 p.m. (In consideration of patients, we request the number of visitors be limited to two at any given time.)
Obstetrics
Visiting hours end at 8:30 p.m. Two visitors, excluding the father/support person, are allowed per visiting period.
Pediatrics Visiting hours end at 8:30 p.m. Two visitors, excluding the parents/designated person, are allowed per visiting period. Parents/designated person may stay with a child beyond visiting hours.
Intensive/Coronary Care Unit
9:00-9:30 a.m., 1:00-1:30 p.m., 5:00-5:30 p.m., 9:00-9:30 p.m., and 12:00 midnight-12:30 a.m.
Two persons per visiting period which is limited to fifteen minutes. Visitors are limited to immediate family, or close friend if there are no relatives. Children must be at least eight years of age or older.
Because we comply with requirements of the Illinois Department of Public Health, we ask that your friends and relatives observe the following rules:
- No smoking at any time anywhere in the building or on the campus.
- No more than two visitors are permitted with a patient at any one time. Additional visitors must wait in the lounge.
- Exceptions are made in unusual circumstances with specific permission granted from Nursing Administration.
- To avoid additional risk to visitors or patients, do not enter any room posted with a precaution sign without first contacting a nurse.
- Children under twelve years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
- Do not visit if you are ill.
- Do not sit on the patient's bed.
- Make visits as short as possible and speak softly and cheerfully.
