The Center for Psychiatric HealthThe Center for Psychiatric Health is an outpatient division of Passavant Area Hospital. The Center provides counseling for:
· Marital and family issues
· Parenting and child behavior problems
· Depression and mood disorders
· Grief and Loss
· Substance-related disorders
The Center is professionally staffed with one psychiatrist who is available for consultation and medication management. In addition, multiple licensed psychotherapists are on staff. The Center is located at 1515 West Walnut, Building 1, just south of the Passavant campus. Telephone number is 245-7275.

Physician Profile
Jonathan D. Colen, D.O., is the Medical Director and has a full-time Adult Psychiatry practice at The Center for Psychiatric Health. He also serves as a Consultant in the Department of Medicine at Passavant. He sees patients age 18 and up.
Dr. Colen promotes a practice philosophy of giving high quality, compassionate, patient-centered care, with the focus of restoring balance in the mind, body and spirit. Dr. Colen prescribes medications and performs psychotherapy as needed to treat all forms of mental illness and addictions. Dr Colen is experienced in treating very complex mental illness/behavioral health issues. He has a special emphasis in treating anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, behavioral problems that are secondary to dementia, and other medical illnesses, addictions and anger management.

- Dr. Colen is certified by the National Anger Management Association to give anger management training to individuals and organizations.

- Dr. Colen completed the AOA/Ohio University-COM/NYIT Health Policy Fellowship 2006-2007.
- He served his Psychiatry Residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. He served as Chief Resident his final year. He was also awarded the distinction of "Outstanding Senior Resident in General Psychiatry 2002-2003" by the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine.
- He completed a one year rotating Medical Internship at Michigan Capital Medical Center/Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
- Dr. Colen earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1994.
- Dr Colen graduated Summa Cum Laude from Park University in Parkville, MO with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.
Dr. Colen was previously employed at Preferred Family Healthcare in Kirksville, Missouri, where he served as a Medical Director and Lead Psychiatrist. He also was an Assistant Professor in the Neurobehavioral Science and Family Medicine, Preventive Medicine and Community Health Departments at A.T. Still University/Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Tennill's professional experience includes ten years as a therapist with Clinical Associates in Jacksonville and five years as a clinical director with Community Counseling Services, Jacksonville. She is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers.
